Gustav Schafer taken to hospital after smash Tokio Hotel drummer crashes his car into tram
Tokio Hotel's clean cut image may have won them millions of fans across the world, but it seems they're far from being the ideal teenage role models - especially drummer Gustav Schafer, who crashed his car into a tram!
20-year-old musician was in his BMW 3-Series on Tuesday afternoon in the German city of Magdeburg when the accident happened. He reportedly overtook a line of traffic and drove straight over tram tracks which had been blocked off. His car was then hit by an oncoming tram, skidded into the right lane of traffic and hit two further cars.
Schafer and his two passengers - Katharina Kretzschmar (29), the sister of SCM sport director Stefan Kretzschmar, and Denny E. (29) from Hamburg - were taken by ambulance to hospital, although they were only slightly hurt.
The drummer may still be feeling pain, however, as he is set to be charged with bodily harm due to negligence.
But he shouldn't let it get him down - he will appear with his Tokio Hotel bandmates at the European Music Awards in Liverpool, where they are up for two gongs.
